When Martha Martinez turned 18, she applied for jobs everywhere she could. It was Taco Bell that finally gave her a chance and kicked off what’s now been a long career with the brand (nearly 20 years, to be exact). Martha started as a Team Member in 2002. “It felt like an easy, fun job,” she says. “Especially for a teenager.”
She soon worked her way through the career ladder. By 2017, DRG was looking for a Restaurant General Manager in Livermore, CA and Martha fit the job description. After gaining experience in a few DRG-owned locations, her big break came last year when the company asked her to be part of the San Ramon Cantina opening.
“I’ve stayed here because of the leaders,” she says. “They are great, and most importantly, they actually care about us.”
Martha says the DRG Cares program, scholarship funds and benefits outweigh other fast-food locations. And while she’s excited to continue her climb to the next position, for now, she’s happy as an RGM.
