At Diversified Restaurant Group, we believe in positively impacting the lives of our team and the communities in which we serve. Together with the Taco Bell Foundation and Arby’s Foundation, this year, we gave more than $1.28 million in community grants to 23 nonprofit partners across our markets. Proof that “rounding up” is a small way to make a big impact!
Investing in Opportunity
From education and career readiness to youth development and housing support, these grants are helping nonprofit organizations expand programs designed to make a lasting difference.
In Kansas City, DRG’s community grants include $70,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City to support expanded pathways for teen success. Another $40,070 was awarded to Operation Breakthrough for The Ignition Lab, a program focused on teen workforce development and entrepreneurship. We also contributed $70,000 to Hillcrest Transitional Housing to support shelter and prevention services for homeless youth in Kansas City, KS.
These investments reflect the many ways community organizations are helping our young people build skills, find opportunities and create brighter futures.
Supporting Young People Across America
Our commitment to supporting youth extends across multiple markets.
In Las Vegas, Taco Bell Foundation grants are supporting organizations including Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada, Junior Achievement of Nevada, UNLV Sports Research & Innovation Initiative, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada, and Critical Care Comics. Together, these grants support leadership development, career readiness, education, mentorship and scholarship opportunities.
In Reno, grants are helping the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada and Junior Achievement of Nevada with programs focused on life skills, workforce readiness and career development.
In Los Angeles, grants include $100,000 for the AC Green Youth Foundation, along with support for Antelope Valley Boys & Girls Club, EmpowHer Institute and the California Restaurant Foundation. The grants support initiatives ranging from career-to-college programming and girls’ leadership development to ProStart education.
Building Futures Through Community Partnerships
DRG’s impact continues throughout Northern California.
In the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose market, grants support seven nonprofit partners, including Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley, Community Youth Center, Notes for Notes, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area and San Francisco First Tee.
Among them, a $60,000 grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area supports its Big Futures program, while $91,000 to San Francisco First Tee supports its college counseling program. Other grants are helping provide youth leadership and workforce development, education and career development, music education and athletic opportunities.
Supporting Communities Through Arby’s
DRG’s community giving also extends to markets supported by Arby’s. This year, contributions from the Arby’s Foundation are helping organizations provide youth development, food security, education and family support across Nevada and Alaska.
In Las Vegas, grants totaling $40,790 went to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern NV, Critical Care Comics Las Vegas and Junior Achievement. In Reno, $4,730 was granted to the Boys & Girls of Truckee Meadows, Folds of Honor, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Nevada.
Arby’s contributions also extend to Alaska, where the Boys & Girls Club of Kenai Peninsula, BBBs of Alaska, Kenai Peninsula Food Bank and Covenant House received a combined $19,780. In Fairbanks, $5,000 was awarded to Fairbanks Youth Advocates and the Fairbanks Community Food Bank to continue their work in the community.
Making an Impact Together
Community impact is strongest when organizations come together around a shared goal. These grants are an opportunity for DRG, Arby’s and Taco Bell to support the organizations already doing meaningful work in our communities and help expand the reach of that work.
We’re grateful to the nonprofit partners, team members and community leaders helping make this work possible. Together, we’re strengthening communities and creating opportunities for the next generation.
