In continuation with our innovative partnership with Taco Bell, DRG is excited to announce the opening of our first all-electric restaurant concept in Tracy, CA! Dubbed Taco Bell “e,” this Taco Bell’s new energy infrastructure features the latest renewable and energy efficient technologies, provided by Budderfly, our sustainability partner for this pilot restaurant — and one of the fastest-growing Energy as a Service (EaaS) companies in the United States! Taco Bell “e” represents exciting progress toward net zero emissions while offering a more comfortable experience for guests and team members.
“Taco Bell “e” looks like your typical Taco Bell, but underneath it’s packed full of cutting-edge technology.” – SG Ellison, President & CEO
Taco Bell “e” features:
- A closed-loop geothermal heat pump system and 67 kWh solar panel system that generate continuous, reliable, clean power.
- Bi-directional EV charging station (COMING SOON) and a 150 kWh battery storage system that supports the local grid.
- State-of-the-art air filtration and indoor air quality systems.
- Advanced refrigeration controls to ensure food safety.
- Water conservation technologies for reducing waste.
Utilizing these state-of-the-art energy technologies is expected to lower the new restaurant’s total energy consumption by 50 percent, mitigating an estimated 30 tons of CO2 equivalent emissions per year! That’s comparable to the annual emissions of about SEVEN gas-powered passenger vehicles!
