It’s a party at pacifica cantina!

If anyone knows how to have a proper celebration, it’s the Pacifica Taco Bell Cantina team. From wedding receptions to party-bus pit stops and every large-group event in between, their hard work and detail-oriented attitude have earned them quite the accolade: Pacifica Cantina is now the highest-grossing Taco Bell in the Diversified Restaurant Group (DRG) family. Taco ‘bout quite the accomplishment!

A WORLD-CLASS TEAM

The high caliber of Pacifica Cantina starts with those at the very top. Their Sr. Cantina Specialist, James Aman, as well as their Restaurant General Manager (RGM), Janet Amador, have over 55 years of combined QSR experience. This industry knowledge is no doubt a huge part of this special restaurant’s success. 

A great example of the pair’s expertise in action was an in-house advertising idea: promoting Pacifica Cantina as a top spot in the area for large parties, wedding receptions. Once they secured the oceanside Taco Bell’s first wedding reception, the press caught on and the restaurant’s success took off from there.

Now, the Cantina is THE place to visit in Pacifica. “There are people that come from all over the world to eat here,” James says. 

STAYING CALM IN THE CHAOS

Of course, the Cantina’s popularity comes with its fair share of frenzy, too. Pacifica recently hosted the World Dog Surfing Championships. The restaurant was so packed that you could barely see out the windows! Luckily, the team was already well-versed in serving large crowds (while still maintaining a high level of customer service, of course).  

“As we’ve continued to grow, we’ve mastered how to handle those busy days,” James says.

RAISING THE BAR

A recent remodel took the Pacifica Cantina from really good to absolutely great. In addition to heated patio seating, the building was fitted with a bar. Guests can now enjoy new Twisted Freeze flavors and a curated margarita lineup with Strawberry, Tropical, Peach, Original Lime flavor options. There’s also a Spicy Margarita that’s made with muddled jalapeños and Ghost Pepper Tequila.

James also shares that when the team hosts a wedding reception, they go the extra mile and have custom Taco Bell merchandise made for the newlyweds. “It’s something so simple that creates such a lasting memory,” James says. 

All of these little details add up to create one epic atmosphere of entertainment.

WORDS OF WISDOM

So, what can other Taco Bell Cantina leaders do to try to reach Pacifica’s level of success? According to James, it’s all about selecting the right team and then doing everything you can to take care of that team. The crew at Pacifica Cantina is proud to work there, and thanks to strong leaders, great training and a family-like atmosphere, the restaurant has quickly become their second home.
